In hosting environments, server resources are akin to shared assets. While abundant resources benefit everyone, no single user has an incentive to limit their own usage. To prevent resource overuse, we impose restrictions on the amount of server resources any individual user may consume. These limits are designed to safeguard against server abuse, which ElySpace determines at its discretion.
These guidelines aim to protect you, our valued customers, from degraded service quality. Typically, if we impose a restriction due to resource misuse, the affected account has violated multiple policies (or one policy severely) and is negatively impacting other clients on the same server. The vast majority of sites—approximately 99.5%—will never need to consider these limits. Nevertheless, it’s wise to familiarize yourself with them.
Backups
ElySpace servers are not intended for backup or storage purposes. We permit up to 2 GB of website backup data to be stored within an account.
Reselling
Reselling is prohibited on Web Hosting and WordPress Hosting plans. If reselling is required, a Reseller Hosting plan must be purchased.
Adult Content
Pornography is strictly forbidden. Nudity, adult-oriented e-commerce stores, and similar content are allowed only if legal in the United States, India, Jammu and Kashmir, and the United Kingdom. ElySpace reserves the sole authority to determine violations of this provision.
Chat Applications
All interactive chat applications are strictly prohibited on ElySpace servers. This includes but is not limited to chat apps written in PHP, Perl, CGI, Python, Ruby, IRC, or IRC bots. Any web application providing real-time chat is not permitted. Shoutboxes, chatboxes, live chat tools (e.g., LiveZilla), and similar programs are banned.
Web Applications & Web Accessible Scripts
Outdated web applications actively being exploited will be shut down without notice. As a webmaster, you should regularly evaluate your web-based applications and scripts to ensure they are secure and up-to-date.
Forums and applications using commenting systems must implement spam protection or moderation. CAPTCHA is a widely used method to prevent spam bots from targeting your site.
General
SEO farms or similar activities are strictly forbidden on ElySpace servers and networks. SEO farms create excessive strain and resource abuse, affecting all clients.
Banner rotation services and link exchange networks are not allowed.
Offering image, file, document, or data storage, as well as free hosting and email services, is strictly prohibited.
Off-site media storage is not permitted.
Operating a public mirror site is not allowed.
Running a proxy or anonymizer, whether publicly accessible or protected, is prohibited.
Sites related to prime bank or bank debentures, Bitcoin, lotteries, MUDs or online RPGs, hate speech, hacking tools, IP scanners, mail bombing or spam scripts, or forums/websites distributing warez content are expressly forbidden.
BitTorrent applications, trackers, clients, and any file-sharing/peer-to-peer activities are banned.
Gaming servers (e.g., Minecraft, Counter-Strike, Half-Life, Battlefield 1942) are not allowed.
Web spiders and indexers are prohibited.
The aforementioned services and content create undue system load and should only be run in a dedicated server environment.
All violations will result in immediate shutdown and may lead to account suspension or termination.
If you are unsure whether your content violates these policies, please contact our Abuse Department for clarification.
Through the CloudLinux system, shared hosting accounts are subject to specific resource limits. Our shared hosting packages adhere to the following CloudLinux resource restrictions:
CPU speed limit relative to a single core. Measured in cores, our shared hosting packages start at 100% (1x CPU core).
Physical memory limit (including shared memory and disk cache). Measured in MB, our hosting packages begin at 1024MB.
IO throughput combines read and write operations. Measured in MB per second, our shared hosting packages offer a limit of 10MB per second.
IOPS restricts the total number of read/write operations per second. Our shared hosting packages have a limit of 1024 operations per second.
EP (Entry processes) represents the maximum number of concurrent connections to dynamic scripts, SSH sessions, and cron jobs. Our packages start with a limit of 10 entry processes.
NPROC (Number of processes) limits the maximum number of processes within LVE. Our shared hosting accounts are capped at 100 processes.
Detailed technical information on CloudLinux limits can be found on the CloudLinux Documentation website.
These limits vary depending on the hosting package and recommended resource levels:

Reseller Hosting Plans:
Many of these limits are considered “hard” limits. If your account impacts the overall performance of a server, we must enforce these policies.
Shared hosting customers have access to detailed, up-to-date statistics for CPU and memory usage via the service control panel (cPanel). Customers are responsible for maintaining their accounts and installed software to ensure optimal performance and resource availability for all users sharing the hosting environment.
If an account violates these Resource Usage Policies, we will provide 48 hours, 5 days, or 10 days’ notice, depending on the severity. Accounts exceeding the consumption threshold 100 times within 24 hours will receive a notification from the technical team, advising optimization or upgrading to a compatible plan.
We reserve the right, as outlined in the Terms of Service, to limit resource usage if it causes significant issues.
All users are restricted to 15 concurrent MySQL connections.
Database queries should not exceed 3,000 per hour.
Database changes (insert/update/delete) should not exceed 1,000 queries per hour.
Database servers should not be used as hosted solutions. Database access is permitted only for websites hosted by ElySpace.
Remote database access is for administrative purposes only.
The total number of inodes in an account may not exceed the values listed below. Each file (webpage, image, email, PHP file, directory, etc.) consumes one inode.
Shared Hosting Plans:
WordPress Hosting Plans:
Reseller Hosting Plans:
A single log file should not exceed 1 GB in size. The total size of all similar log files should not exceed 5 GB.
A directory cannot contain more than 2,500 immediate child files. This includes subdirectories themselves but excludes files within those directories.
Simultaneous Apache connections from a single source may not exceed 50 at any given time. Web processes should not fork or spawn subprocesses.
Unsolicited Bulk/Commercial Email / SPAM
Using ElySpace servers and networks to transmit unsolicited bulk/commercial email (spam) is strictly prohibited. Spamming is unacceptable under all circumstances.
Spam transmission from our servers and networks can cause irreparable monetary and reputational damage. All damages caused by spamming will be pursued to the fullest extent of the law.
Any client caught spamming explicitly from our servers or networks will have their account terminated immediately without notice.
The maximum number of hourly emails per domain is 300.
Processes should not send outbound mail to more than 25 recipients at any given time.
The maximum number of members per mailing list is 1,500.
POP connections are limited to 60 per hour.
SMTP connections (outbound email connections) are limited to 500 per hour per server account.
Mailing lists exceeding 1,500 members require a VPS service. Dividing one list into smaller parts to bypass this limit is not allowed.
Mailing lists must be throttled to send an email every 6 seconds at a minimum. If your mailing list software does not support throttling, you must use alternative software. This ensures server load remains manageable and prevents issues for other users. Failure to comply will result in suspension.
Sending emails to purchased or acquired mailing lists is prohibited. This constitutes spamming, which we do not tolerate.
All mailing lists must comply with the rules set forth by the United States, available at this link.
Direct SMTP mailing system scripts are not permitted. Mail should be relayed through the local MTA.
A cron job should not execute more frequently than once every 15 minutes.
Our servers should not be used as an SSH bounce point to other servers/networks. You may not use the Unix “find” command recursively on directories more than 5 levels deep.
Dedicated IP addresses require valid justification. ElySpace reserves the right to decline any dedicated IP requests without explanation.
Failure to adhere to these terms is grounds for account suspension or termination. We reserve the right to remove any account without prior notice.
The examples provided are a guide and may not be exhaustive. If you have questions about whether your content violates these policies, please submit a ticket to our Support Department for clarification.
